Microsoft is executing another executive shuffle to restructure how it engineers its Copilot assistant. For years, distinct teams have operated on the consumer and commercial aspects of Copilot, but the company is now unifying elements of these groups to foster a more integrated product for both businesses and consumers.
Shift in Leadership Focus
Under the new structure, Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman will concentrate on developing the company's own AI models, moving away from direct involvement in Copilot's consumer-facing assistant features. Suleyman joined Microsoft nearly two years ago, part of a broader recruitment from Inflection AI.
