Announcement of the Postponement
Microsoft has delayed its upcoming Fable reboot once again. The game was originally set to launch in autumn 2026, but the company now states that Fable will arrive in February 2027. This marks another shift in the release timeline for the title, which has faced multiple adjustments in the past.
New Look at Xbox Games Showcase
Despite the delay, Microsoft confirms that a new look at the game will be presented during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th. This event is positioned as an opportunity to provide updated details to players ahead of the revised launch window.
Context of Xbox Release Planning
This year features a range of titles for Xbox players, including Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and Grand Theft Auto VI. Microsoft indicated on its Xbox account on X that adjustments to the Fable schedule support better planning for game launches through the holidays in a manner that aligns with player interests.
In order to plan our game launches through the holidays, in a way that works best for players, we're moving Fable to February 2027.
