Microsoft Executive Vice President for Gaming Phil Spencer has announced his retirement after 38 years with the company and 12 years leading its video game efforts. Asha Sharma, the executive currently overseeing Microsoft’s CoreAI division, will step into his role as the new leader.

Xbox Leadership Shifts

Xbox President Sarah Bond, widely seen as a potential successor to Spencer, is also resigning from Microsoft. In a related move, Xbox Studios Head Matt Booty receives a promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, where he will collaborate closely with Sharma on content strategy.
